Opinions:

I find the book interesting and lots of unexpected languages in the text that surprised me. I personally think that Christopher is a brave and clever young boy because he's not afraid to take risks. This is the quality I admire about Christopher.  

Evidence:
There is one specific cruse language that I've heard in some few chapters like the f word.

In the text, Christopher said 'So I told myself I would not mess with things in his room. I would move them and then I would move them back' without his Father knowing. 

Goal For ESOL This Year

My Goal This Year:

Throughout the year I am setting goals for myself. Firstly, I want to improve my writing by reading each night before going to bed. Secondly, Finishing my work on time. Most importantly is to ask question when I'm unsure of something. One of my main goals is to balance sports and studies.  

The Problem with Plastic Bags

In Esol we are doing research on the topic of our own choice and write a paragraph. My topic was plastic and how they are affecting our environment. 

Paragraph 

Plastic is a huge problem in our environment? that’s why we need to reduce the amount of single plastic. We usually come up with question like: How long does it take for plastic to break down, Where will all the unrecyclable plastic go?, or How are plastic affecting soil?. This is some of the questions we are going to be looking at in detail.

Firstly, How long does it take for plastic to break down? Well according to Google “Normally, plastic items can take up to 1000 years to decompose in landfills”. This is why plastic is a problem. That’s why some supermarket in New Zealand had to stop using single plastic bags like countdown and New World. Not only it’s good for those company to stop but it’s also setting a good example to other countries to stop using single plastic bags as well.

You may be thinking, What plastic can be recycled into? Surprisingly, single-use plastic can be significantly recycled into park benches, backyard decks, playground equipment, t-shirt, sweaters, fleece jacket, sleeping bags and etc. I’m not saying we should keep using single plastic because we have a solution and take advantages of it but doing this to stop and reduced the amount of plastic we have. Making the world better by reusing, reducing, and recycling.

I have learned our group's strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats. I know now that every problem has a solution just around the corner no matter the situation. Learning the step by step process of organizing our project.

Having a full understanding of it.

Problem-solving:

Weakness

• We can try and make it for fun and enjoyable for young people.
• We can make it challenging and competitive.

Threats:

• We can put them in small groups and get to know each other first.
• We can never prevent injuries but we can help with working in a safer environment during the time we have with them, and we can also provide them with the first-aid kit

Skill application:

Strengths:

• We will look at the level of skill that the students have and use that to teach them what they need to improve on.
• The skills we learned will be put to good use when we work with the students.

Opportunities:

• We can contact the Hornby primary school for permission to work with the primary students.

• We can also work with other groups that have similar ideas to work with.

Types of the Lathe Operation 

There are lots of operation used for the lathe machine: This is some of the common operations: 

The general operation done with the Lathe are grooving, turning, cutting sanding etc. 

If anyone who wants to operate the Lathe machine must first know about the feeds, cutting speed, depth of the cut and usage of tools should be considered. 

Safety 

When something goes wrong there is an emergency button at the bottom of the machine.

- Not to stick your hands when the chuck is spinning. 

- Tie your hair up.

- Take off lose clothing 

- Wear safety glasses

Spiritual Well Being

What did you think spiritual wellbeing was before you started this unit?

I thought spiritual well being was about religion and beliefs. 

What is spiritual wellbeing about?

Spiritual well being is not only about religion but it is also about values, goals, Aspiration/dreams, Traditions etc. 

Why does everyone have differing spiritual wellbeing?

People have different beliefs and it could mean a lot to them.

What area of spiritual well being that you need to improve on and why?

Working on Belief and Who I am. Believe that the impossible can be possible, not being hard on myself. 

What is a goal you have about education/life? 

I want to become the First Fijian Woman to Play In the NBA.
Get a lawyers degree.
