Community Sports

What am I learning?
I have learned our group's strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats. I know now that every problem has a solution just around the corner no matter the situation. Learning the step by step process of organizing our project.

How do I know what I have learned?
Having a full understanding of it.

Who is in my group?
Ofa, Lenora, Janel, Anneliese

Problem-solving:
Weakness

  • We can try and make it for fun and enjoyable for young people.
  • We can make it challenging and competitive.

Threats:

  • We can put them in small groups and get to know each other first.
  • We can never prevent injuries but we can help with working in a safer environment during the time we have with them, and we can also provide them with the first-aid kit

Skill application:
Strengths:

  • We will look at the level of skill that the students have and use that to teach them what they need to improve on.
  • The skills we learned will be put to good use when we work with the students.

Opportunities:

  • We can contact the Hornby primary school for permission to work with the primary students.

  • We can also work with other groups that have similar ideas to work with.

Four Dimensions of Well-being

Today I learned about the four dimensions and their Maori name.
1. Social                         1. Taha whanau
2. Mental/emotional       2. Taha hinengaro
3. Spiritual                      3. Taha wairua
4. Physical                      4. Taha tinana

My physical wellbeing is in good shape because I have been involved in after-school sports event like Rugby, Basketball and also outside school training.

The things that I could do better for my physical wellbeing are exercises a lot, go for a run etc.

This dimension is one of the 4 dimensions that I do need to work on every day.
